# Liverpool: Fans unhappy with Takumi Minamino vs Milan

**Many Liverpool fans were critical of Takumi Minamino during their Champions League game in Milan on Tuesday night.**

Liverpool headed to the San Siro knowing that they had already won Group B after picking up maximum points from their first five matches.

Milan, on the other hand, started the night in third and were vying for a place in the Round of 16 with FC Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp took the opportunity to rotate his side, with only two players [who started against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-wolverhampton/dsU) keeping their places – Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

### Recapping Minamino’s performance vs Milan

Minamino lined up in a middle three alongside 19-year-old Tyler Morton and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

According to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/262838/Show/Takumi-Minamino), he’d only started in midfield once before this season.

And the Japanese international seemed to struggle. Indeed, his [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-milan/UsRdb) rating of 6.8 was the joint-lowest in the Liverpool side.

He won only two of his six ground duels and [was blamed by BBC Radio 5 Live pundit Neil Lennon](https://twitter.com/5liveSport/status/1468318680354275330) for the opening goal, having failed to clear a corner before Fikayo Tomori converted.
