# Liverpool: Fans urge club to bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield after new update

**Philippe Coutinho is reportedly on the radar of many Premier League clubs, but he is hoping to rekindle his relationship with Liverpool.**

According to Diario Sport (relayed via [@LFCTransferRoom](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1288094552172253184)), the Brazilian’s ‘main wish’ is to rejoin his former club. Jurgen Klopp is eyeing up a move for Thiago Alcantara, but apparently hasn’t closed the book on Coutinho.

It’s been a long two years since the midfielder left Anfield and his dream move to Barcelona has ultimately crashed and burned. He is now transfer listed by the Catalonians and his loan spell with Bayern Munich doesn’t hold much hope for a permanent move.

Liverpool sold the playmaker for a handsome [fee of £142million,](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42580173) but he has not lived up to Barcelona’s expectations. Now, the club is eager to get him off their books and could be willing to drastically drop their asking price, perhaps closer to his current [Transfermarkt value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/philippe-coutinho/profil/spieler/80444) of £50.4million.

Loads of Reds fans are on board with welcoming Coutinho back to Merseyside. One supporter has tweeted ‘this is what I need to hear’, whilst another has urged the club to ‘forget Thiago’. The Brazilian notched [54 goals and 45 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/philippe-coutinho/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/80444) during his time in red and was known for his audacious long-rang attempts on goal. It’s more than understandable why many Kopites want to see Coutinho make his grand return.

> I would have Coutinho over Thiago. Younger and less injury prone except for the odd bad back!
