# Liverpool: Fans want Harry Wilson to be given a chance at Anfield

**Despite featuring in [seven pre-season games](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/333044/Show/Harry-Wilson) for Liverpool and scoring a [brilliant long-range goal against Lyon](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-3-1-lyon-harry-18807911) in one of those, striker Harry Wilson was [allowed to leave on loan for Bournemouth](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49249224) earlier this month.**

The 22-year-old scored his [first Cherries goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455) last week, a [long-range shot against Aston Villa](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/17/aston-villa-bournemouth-premier-league-match-report), and Liverpool-focused Twitter channel [@AnfieldWatch](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch/status/1164793354137161730) posted a pertinent statistic while asking if he has a future at his parent club.

According to [Anfield Watch](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch/status/1164793354137161730), Wilson has now scored 10 goals from outside the penalty area since the start of last season, more than anyone else in English professional football.

The [Wales international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/profil/spieler/279455) scored regularly for Liverpool’s under-23 side, with [32 goals in 60 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455), but has played just [once in a competitive game for the first team](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455), an [FA Cup replay against Plymouth in January 2017](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455/plus/0?saison=&verein=31&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

After scoring [seven times in 14 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455) [on loan at Hull](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/289244-harry-wilson-signs-new-deal-and-joins-hull-on-loan) two seasons ago, Wilson excelled during his [loan spell at Derby](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/307399-harry-wilson-derby-loan-liverpool) last season, finishing the campaign with [18 goals from 49 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455).

> I don't know why they let him go on loan again. He is tried, tested and proved. We needed him when we come up against opponents that sit deep in their 18
