# Liverpool: Fans want Kostas Tsimikas to stay

**A number of Liverpool supporters want Kostas Tsimikas to stay at Anfield beyond this summer, following a report claiming that he could leave.**

The left-back [arrived from Olympiakos](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/405024-liverpool-complete-signing-of-kostas-tsimikas) last summer, with Jurgen Klopp seeing him as someone who could provide competition for Andy Robertson.

It turned out to be a hugely frustrating first year at Liverpool for Tsimikas, however, with the Greece international limited to [just six minutes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/301455/Show/Konstantinos-Tsimikas) of Premier League action. It meant that Robertson’s workload became too great and the Scot was [unable to maintain](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115726/History/Andrew-Robertson) his usual world-class standards as fatigue eventually set in.

According to [*Gazzetta dello Sport*](https://www.gazzetta.it/) \[via [*LFC Transfer Room* on Twitter](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1406323933931098114?s=20)\], Napoli are keen on a loan move for Tsimikas this summer, with Klopp ‘never convinced’ by him last season.

### Liverpool fans call for Tsimikas to stay put

It remains to be seen if the Reds are willing to sell, but these fans took to Twitter to say that the Greek defender should stay at the club ahead of next season given the [lack of cover](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/kadernachposition/verein/31) for Robertson elsewhere.

**“We have to keep Tsimikas. Idc if there’s even reasonable bids that would give us a profit. He’s done well in the few games he was given. Missed half a season due to injuries and then without any CBs Jurgen wanted keep playing Robbo for experience. He will be needed more next season”**
