# Liverpool: Fans urge club to invest in transfer target Lloyd Kelly

**Liverpool are looking to sign a left-back to serve as a deputy to Andy Robertson this summer.**

The Premier League champions have been particularly shy of options on the left flank this season, with the Scotsman currently the [only recognised senior player](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/kadernachposition/verein/31) in that position. As a result, the Reds are on the hunt for a back-up and like the look of Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly, according to Neil Jones (via [@AnfieldEdition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1288622689364643843)).

With the Cherries falling victim to relegation, the club may want to cash in for an inflated price to the Premier League champions.

The 21-year-old has played at both [left-back and centre-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lloyd-kelly/leistungsdaten/spieler/480116) this season, which showcases his versatility across the back four. He could be exactly the type of young player Liverpool are seeking to bolster their title-winning squad.

A lot of Reds fans are in agreement with bringing him in, with one supporter describing him as “unbelievable business”. Another Kopite feels that they will get a bargain “if we can turn him into another Robertson or Gomez”. Kelly is currently valued at just [£7.2m,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lloyd-kelly/leistungsdaten/spieler/480116) which is almost the same price that Liverpool paid for Robertson back in 2017 (via [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40666486)).
