# Liverpool: Fans want the club to sign Fabian Ruiz

**Liverpool are among four clubs reportedly targeting Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to reports from Italy.**

[Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/napoli-four-huge-clubs-across-europe-fighting-for-fabian-ruiz-11181) reported that the Reds were joined by Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona in showing an interest in the [23-year-old Spain international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabian-ruiz/profil/spieler/350219).

Having [come to Napoli from Real Betis in summer 2018](https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/07/05/napoli-confirm-signing-real-betis-talent-fabian-ruiz-long-term-contract), he made [40 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabian-ruiz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/350219) for them last season, scoring [seven goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabian-ruiz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/350219) and providing [three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabian-ruiz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/350219).

Ruiz [played against the Reds twice last season in the Champions League group stage](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabian-ruiz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/350219/plus/0/saison/2018/wettbewerb/CL/verein/6195) and could face them again in the coming weeks, with the two clubs [once again paired in the same group in the competition](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2020/draws/round=2001140/).
