# Liverpool: Fans expect the club to sign Sander Berge

**Liverpool fans are convinced that Genk star Sander Berge will come to Anfield shortly after the player’s recent comments about defender Virgil van Dijk.**

The 21-year-old [recently](https://www.skysports.com/football/genk-vs-liverpool/420383) came up against the Reds in the Champions League and found himself on the losing side on both occasions.

Berge has been a critical part for Blauw-Wit this season and has scored [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sander-berge/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/333014) goals in 20 appearances in all competition.

After their [2-1](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2019/nov/05/liverpool-v-genk-champions-league-live?page=with:block-5dc1dc568f08c2d1f80da513) defeat on Merseyside, Berge revealed an interesting story after the game in the tunnel area.

> Genk midfielder Sander Berge: “I told Stefan Johansen to get Van Dijk’s shirt (when they play). After our game against [#LFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Van Dijk was waiting for me at the tunnel for 5..10 minutes to switch shirts. They are small details but it shows how great the Liverpool players are.” [pic.twitter.com/3iRfn0CSlb](https://t.co/3iRfn0CSlb)

As a result, supporters felt that Berge is destined to become a new member of Jurgen Klopp’s inventory and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan immediately welcomed the Norwegian to Liverpool, while another said that nothing can prevent this transfer from going through.
