# Liverpool: Fans want to see Daniel Sturridge return to Anfield

**Many [Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/) fans have been pleading for former Kop favourite Daniel Sturridge to return to Anfield.**

The 30-year-old had his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor terminated by mutual consent following his ban from all football-related activities relating to betting offences, for which he was also fined £150,000 (via [The Irish Times](https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/daniel-sturridge-banned-from-all-football-activity-until-june-17th-1.4190365)).

Since March, the former England international has been a free agent and in a recent interview, Sturridge told [The Beautiful Game Podcast](https://twitter.com/Podcast_TBG/status/1337351848206983170) that Liverpool was the perfect place for him.

He added that his sister dreamt that he would be playing his football in Merseyside, to which he initially described as “foolishness.”
