# Liverpool: Fans worry as they await Fabinho injury update

**Liverpool fans are nervously [awaiting](https://twitter.com/lfc/status/1199819208118489088?s=12) news on midfielder Fabinho after he went off injured during his side’s [1-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50519961) draw against Napoli at Anfield on Wednesday.**

The Brazilian left the field after just [19](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50519961) minutes holding his left ankle in the process in a game that could have seen the Reds advance to the last 16 of the Champions League for the third season in a row.

Fabinho was a key asset in Liverpool’s Champions League charge last season as they lifted the elusive trophy in Madrid after a [2-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48368443) win against Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano.

To add to the fears of fans, the Brazil international was [pictured](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7734727/Liverpools-Fabinho-protective-boot-alongside-Deco-coming-ankle-injury-vs-Napoli.html) wearing a protective boot alongside former Barcelona and Chelsea star Deco.

> We must wait to discover the extent of the injury sustained by Fabinho during tonight’s 1-1 draw with Napoli.

He could miss a critical point of the season for the Merseyside club, which will see them play [eight](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2019-20/first-team/fixtures-and-results) games in December alone.

Supporters were anxious to find the fate of Fabinho and made their feelings clear on social media.
