Liverpool made easy work of brushing aside Carabao Cup rivals Lincoln City in their most recent fixture.
Whilst a performance in which a team conceded two goals usually means the goalkeeper had a poor game, this case is unique for the Reds’ controversial Spaniard.
Adrian has been under fire for a lot of this year after errors in the FA Cup and Champions League cost Liverpool their place in the competitions. His individual errors allowed Chelsea and Atletico Madrid to both secure important wins over the Merseysiders.
Should Adrian be given more time with the Liverpool first team?
However, in the absence of Alisson, the 35-year-old was given a chance to win back the fanbase. Whilst Liverpool had the better side on paper, Lincoln certainly gave their all to try and fight for a result.
The Premier League champions may have conceded two goals, but Adrian’s individual stats should be appreciated by those who have taken aim at him for his mistakes.
According to Sofascore, the former West Ham man made a total of five saves, with four coming from inside the box. He also made one successful run out and won 100% of his attempted duels.
Additionally, Adrian boasted an impressive 100% passing accuracy and 100% successful long balls.
Whilst he may not challenge Alisson for the top spot in the team, his performance against Lincoln will have certainly boosted his confidence going forwards.
