Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a potential summer move for soon-to-be free agent Daichi Kamada.

The Lowdown: Contract expiring

Kamada's contract at Frankfurt expires in the summer, meaning that he can leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

There is sure to be a high demand for him given his form so far this season, with 13 goals and five assists in 27 games in total overall competitions from midfield (four times for Japan at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, helping them qualify from the group stages.

The Latest: Liverpool interest

Co-writing in his latest piece for 90min, transfer expert Graeme Bailey says that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs 'keeping tabs' on Kamada's situation ahead of a potential move this summer.

However, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his signature, while Barcelona, PSG and Borussia Dortmund are all admirers.

The Verdict: No-brainer

To sign Kamada on a free transfer is surely a no-brainer for the Merseyside club.

Three senior midfielders are all out of contract this summer, while Arthur is set to leave after his loan spell.

Hailed as an 'incredible talent' and a 'joy to watch' by journalist Josh Bunting, Kamada is capable of playing more advanced in midfield as well as deeper in the middle of the park, while he can even fill in out wide if needed.

At 26, he would add some fresh legs into the midfield, and given that he would sign for free, they could still continue their long-term pursuit of Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham.
