FSG have reportedly made a move to try and sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda for Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The Lowdown: Rising star
Fresneda is one of the rising stars in Spanish football, having played 17 times for Valladolid by the age of just 18, including seven appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Hailed as having the 'beastly' ability to make measured crosses from right-back by journalist and La Liga presenter Juan Arroita, only four of his team-mates average more crosses per game than him in the Spanish top flight, while his 1.5 key passes per match is unmatched (WhoScored).
Nonetheless, Fresneda will certainly be one to watch going into January.
The Latest: FSG make their move
As per Spanish news outlet AS, the Anfield outfit are just one of a number of clubs that have 'already moved' for Fresneda ahead of January, alongside Arsenal, Newcastle United, Wolves, Leeds United, Everton, Brentford, Southampton and Fulham in the Premier League.
Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and AS Roma are 'already positioned' for his signature, while Rennes, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona 'also watch' him.
Fresneda currently has a release clause of €30m (£25.8m), but that will rise to €45m (£38.7m) once he plays 22 games for Valladolid.
