Liverpool: Andy Robertson has disasterclass during Brighton draw

Liverpool: Andy Robertson has disasterclass during Brighton draw - Brighton & Hove Albion

Liverpool were left frustrated on the South Coast yesterday as they drew with Brighton amidst another VAR controversy.

Robertson and his South Coast nightmare

Andy Robertson was one of the players that was trying to get forward and make an impact but he could not get the balls into the right areas against an organised Brighton side that ultimately thwarted Jurgen Klopp’s team.

During the 90 minutes, Robertson lost possession 27 times, made one tackle, lost five out of his seven duels and conceded the stoppage-time penalty (Sofascore).

Can you beat the Anfield 100 appearances quiz? First up, which Liverpool player was the last to reach 100 league games before Trent Alexander-Arnold did it this season?

While other obvious incidents in the game stole the attention, Robertson’s rather poor performance almost went under the radar – but still remains as a well-respected individual in the Liverpool team.

The Scot was described as a “complete player” by ex-Red Fabio Aurelio and Sir Kenny Dalglish called him a “fantastic” footballer.

Yesterday’s performance should not affect those judgements too much. With a huge game against Ajax in two days, Robertson has the opportunity to bounce back by helping Liverpool qualify for the Last 16 of the Champions League for the fourth successive year.
