Reds legend Robbie Fowler was left fuming by a ‘ridiculous’ ruling during Liverpool’s 9-0 demolition of Bournemouth.

Liverpool had failed to win any of their opening three Premier League matches for the first time in ten years, making this their worst start to a campaign under manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds opened their season with two disappointing draws to newly-promoted Fulham and Crystal Palace, and an early goal from Jadon Sancho seemed to take the wind out of their sails in a poor performance at Manchester United.

Liverpool made an emphatic return to form on Saturday, dominating Bournemouth in a joyous day at Anfield with a stunning 9-0 victory.
However, this demolition did not come without controversy.
In the 46th minute, Bournemouth centre-back Chris Mepham attempted to clear a cross in his side’s six-yard box, but instead ended up firing the ball into the back of his own net.
Referee Stuart Attwell signalled to VAR to review the goal for an offside on Luis Diaz, but the decision came back clean and Liverpool were awarded the goal.
Despite his status as a Reds legend, Robbie Fowler was left fuming (via Twitter) with VAR’s decision, empathising with the Bourneouth defender.

The Verdict
Even if the referee reviews the incident after the game and agrees with Fowler’s verdict, there can be little to no argument that the Reds were still going to score numerous goals during the second half.
Regardless, the Anfield icon won’t be angry for long, with an incredible performance from Klopp’s men having overshadowed their dire start to the season.
With such a result, this may already be the turning point in Liverpool’s challenge for the Premier League title.
