Jurgen Klopp has been awarded the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy by the League Managers Association after his historic 2019/20 season.
After scooping his award, the German manager was greeted by Fergie himself, who sent a video to congratulate him on his glittering campaign. The Manchester United legend also surprised a lot of fans by revealing Klopp called him at 3:30am to inform him that Liverpool had won the Premier League.
Can Liverpool win the Premier League two seasons running?
The Reds ran away with their first league title in 30 years, finishing their season 18 points clear of Manchester City in second place. Liverpool are now the current holders of the Premier League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and Champions League.
Ferguson has paid his respects to the unstoppable Liverpool side and a lot of fans are showing gratitude for his comments. Some on the other hand think it’s hilarious that Klopp woke up one of the Premier League’s most frightening managers whilst celebrating the league title
One fan has tweeted that ‘United fans won’t take this well’ as they can imagine Red Devils supporters fuming over their former manager playing nice with Liverpool.
