Liverpool: Fans criticise Thiago Alcantara during Manchester City encounter

Many Liverpool fans were critical towards midfielder Thiago Alcantara during his side’s mammoth Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
The 29-year-old started the match in the middle of the park alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones, while Fabinho and Jordan Henderson dropped to become the makeshift centre-back pairing once more.
Thiago, who arrived from Bayern Munich last summer, got himself booked after just three minutes following an unnecessary challenge on Citizens’ midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
This booking was his third of the campaign and is starting to build a reputation as an aggressive challenge, but not necessarily getting the ball on every occasion.
Should Thiago be dropped?
Yes

No

With this in mind, some supporters were not happy about the level of tackling that the Spaniard has brought to the midfield, despite the squad being heavily disjointed due to their recent injury crisis.
Thiago not impressing Kop faithful
“Thiago be breaking the wrong records”
“Thiago always make unnecessary slide tackles and gets booked for it”
“Needs to stop fouling”
“He needs to learn to stay on his feet, it’s a liability now how many times he does it. Unforgivable that early on too”
“It’s not funny though, needs to be told to watch himself. Hasn’t done anything for us since signing apart from collect early yellows”
“He is so aggressive lately. Think it’s the pressure from the media affecting him.”
“Thiago can not tackle at all, bet on him to get booked all day”
