Liverpool: Fans delighted as Neco Williams looks set for new five-year contract

Liverpool youngster Neco Williams could be about to be rewarded for his hard work this season with a bumper new contract.
According to Neil Jones (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), the defender will be offered a new five-year deal following on from his breakthrough campaign with the senior squad.

Not only did Williams provide two assists in the Reds’ FA Cup run, but he did enough in the Premier League to receive a winners’ medal after Liverpool were crowned champions. His total goal contribution tally for the term was an impressive three goals and seven assists overall – including youth competitions (via Transfermarkt).
He has certainly stood out as one for the future alongside fellow youngsters Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott. Fans have also been impressed with his work ethic and have taken to Twitter to congratulate him on the positive update.
One supporter has waxed lyrical over the ‘amazing news’ as they look forward to seeing Williams feature for the first team next season. Another has tipped him to be ‘Trent’s deputy’ moving forwards as he could very much mirror Alexander-Arnold’s own success story after he also rose through the Liverpool youth ranks.
