Liverpool: Fans fume over Joel Matip’s absence for Brighton clash

Many Liverpool fans were stunned by the team that manager Jurgen Klopp has opted to go with for their lunchtime Premier League match against Brighton.
The club’s official website revealed the squad an hour before kick-off, with six changes to the side that lost 2-0 at home to Atalanta in midweek.
Sadio Mane is rested, while the in-form Diogo Jota comes back in. Takumi Minamino replaces Curtis Jones and the likes of Nathaniel Phillips and Andy Robertson come back in for Rhys Williams and Kostas Tsimikas. Joel Matip was also deemed not fit enough to feature having played twice already this week, according to The Athletic’s James Pearce.
