Liverpool returned to winning ways on Sunday after beating Aston Villa 2-0 at Anfield.
Rising star Curtis Jones got in on the goalscoring action during a late cameo appearance from the bench. The 19-year-old played just five minutes, but it was enough to see him find the back of the net to put the match to bed.
Should Curtis Jones be made a first team regular for Liverpool?
Jones is amongst other youngsters at the club who have been integrated into the first team this season. Jurgen Klopp has put his faith in the playmaker along with Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams. The trust in Jones has paid off, who has scored three senior goals this term, including two in the FA Cup to help Liverpool reach the fifth round of the competition (via Transfermarkt).
Fans are delighted to see the 19-year-old score his first Premier League and are speculating over his future. One fan thinks it’s ‘just a matter of time’ before Jones becomes a regular in the first team whilst another supporter has tweeted he is ‘better than Pogba’.
Although likely a tongue-in-cheek comment, Liverpool’s teenager has done something Paul Pogba hasn’t been able to this season, which is find the back of the net (via WhoScored).
