Liverpool: Fans gleeful over prospect of being champions at Old Trafford on 1st May 2021
The fixtures for the 2020/21 Premier League were announced this morning and one match in particular has sparked huge excitement among many Liverpool supporters.
The reigning champions are due to visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on 1 May 2021 on matchday 34, with that clash already having the appearance of a potentially title-defining one.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won last season’s league title with seven games to spare and were given a guard of honour by Manchester City’s players at the Etihad Stadium in their first fixture at champions – a prospect of which some Reds fans are dreaming of happening at the other top-flight venue in that city in little over eight months’ time.
If Liverpool were to clinch a second successive Premier League title away to Manchester United next May, it would bring them level with the Old Trafford club on 20 league triumphs, the most of anyone in English football history.

However, the Merseysiders’ record away to United is not encouraging, having won on just one of their last 14 visits in all competitions and needing a late Adam Lallana equaliser to maintain their unbeaten start in the Premier League last term.
