Liverpool: Fans heap praise on Fabinho performance against Chelsea - Liverpool News

After just two games of this season, Liverpool have already ticked off a win against one of their Premier League title rivals.

Chelsea, who have strengthened incredibly well this transfer window, hosted the reigning champions at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The highly-anticipated clash saw the Reds come face-to-face with Timo Werner, the transfer target they narrowly missed out on.

After the Blues saw Andreas Christensen sent off, Liverpool capitalised on the player advantage and slotted two past the west Londoners. Sadio Mane’s brace saw them claim all three points, earning them their second win of two games.

Whilst Mane and others were impressive in the victory, many Reds fans are going wild over the performance of Fabinho. The Brazilian, who is predominantly a defensive midfielder, shifted into defence alongside Virgil van Dijk for the Sunday clash.

According to FotMob, he completed the most amount of passes in the match (87), which earned him an impressive 96% accuracy rating.

Fabinho also boasted four interceptions, four tackles and he won 50% of his attempted duels (via Sofascore).
