Liverpool: Fans react to Pearce claim on Firmino

Liverpool reporter James Pearce has urged the Reds to sign a new striker this summer, hinting that Robert Firmino is not good enough to lead the line anymore.
The £64.8m-valued Brazil international (Transfermarkt) has been generally commended down the years for what he provides to Jurgen Klopp’s side in terms of his work-rate and off-the-ball efforts (Sky Sports via Sportsjoe.ie). However, at the end of the day he is a centre-forward, and 15 goals in his last 63 matches in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) just isn’t good enough.
Those stats have come under even more scrutiny given the Reds’ current poor form, and Pearce has suggested he should either be replaced or a new striker should be brought in to allow Klopp to rotate.
Pearce’s article, which was shared by himself on Twitter, has attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, and many appear to want Firmino out of the door.

“Thank you for being unbiased, we all love Bobby but it’s time to move him on or replace him, but that’s not all James, we have other issues that needs sorting…”

“Been saying this for a long time. His woeful shooting on Saturday exposed him for what a bad striker he really is.”

“This will probably sound harsh, but Klopp has a blind spot when it comes to Firmino. I love Bobby, but he’s been a shadow of himself since football restarted last summer. There’s no room for sentiment in football & his is a position where Liverpool can improve.”

“Time to sell him, he has already hit his ceiling and we need to invest in new strikers, 6 seasons he has given us and we are thankful for that but he just isn’t the same anymore”

“Say that to Mr Henry, James!”

In other news, Klopp and Pep Lijnders have been incredibly impressed with this centre-back.
