Jurgen Klopp has granted his players three weeks of downtime before the action kicks off again ahead of next season.
Whilst his Premier League-winning side take some well-earned rest, youngster Harvey Elliott has opted to take just two of the three weeks the manager has permitted. According to James Pearce (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), the teenager plans to spend the last seven days in training with the reserve team so he is fit and firing ready for first team action the following week.
Will Harvey Elliott become a Liverpool star?
Elliott will no doubt be looking to score his first senior goal next campaign after an impressive run with the professionals this season. The 17-year-old made two Premier League appearances and participated three times in Liverpool’s FA Cup run (via Transfermarkt).
It’s clear the youngster is part of Klopp’s plans moving forwards and supporters are excited to watch him grow. They are also applauding his attitude towards extra training, with one fan claiming they want him ‘to do better than [Mason] Greenwood‘, who has impressed fans and professionals alike this term.
Another Liverpool fan thinks Elliott has the ‘mentality of a serious player’, whilst a third added that he is a ‘classy’ lad. Read more replies from the Anfield faithful here:
I want you to do better than greenwood..
You and Curtis should do real good that we'd start to consider benching Henderson and wijnaldum..
You guys are in one of the best teams in the world, so do exploits

This is the attitude we embody at Liverpool, Elliott is just a kid and could have easily gone off for his 3 week break and enjoyed himself. His drive to be a part of the club he loves is fantastic.
