A number of Liverpool fans have been hailing Reds youngster Harvey Elliott, following his heartwarming celebration for Blackburn Rovers.
The 18-year-old is a player with huge potential, having arrived at Anfield in 2019, being viewed as one of the most exciting teenagers in the country.
Elliott enjoyed a productive first season at his boyhood club, making a total of eight appearances, despite his tender years, and looking a classy touch on the ball.
Jurgen Klopp saw the need to loan him out for the 2020/21 campaign, however, in order to give him more regular playing time.
That looks to be an inspired decision from the Liverpool manager, with Elliott joining Blackburn back in October and flourishing at Ewood Park, scoring six goals and registering 11 assists in the Championship.
On Friday night, the forward scored the winning goal as Blackburn won 2-1 at home to Derby County, before taking off his shirt to reveal a message to the 96 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough back in 1989 – You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Liverpool fans laud Elliott gesture
These Reds supporters were hugely impressed with the youngster’s gesture, taking to Twitter to heap praise on him.
“Well I just feel in love with this kid. Hope he plays with us until he is 35 and breaks every record we have“
“The lad loves LFC“
“This kid is hopefully going to be a superstar. He just ‘gets it’“
“This will be remembered next season when you are in red at Anfield“
“Absolutely brilliant Harvey“
In other news, some Liverpool fans have been calling for a current Reds loanee to leave this summer. Find out who it is here.
