Liverpool: Fans relieved as Virgil van Dijk injury update emerges

An update has emerged on the injury sustained by Virgil van Dijk during Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against RB Salzburg on Tuesday.
The Reds played out a 2-2 draw against the Austrian champions with Rhian Brewster scoring both of his side’s goals. However, captain for the match van Dijk was forced off the pitch after suffering a head injury and a cut above his eye.
Is Virgil van Dijk the best defender Liverpool has ever had?
Yes

No

To many fans’ relief though, Jurgen Klopp has announced that the Dutchman is at no risk of any lasting effects from the injury. In a club statement, the German said ‘there will not be a problem’.
There seems to be no worry over whether van Dijk will be available to play against Arsenal in Saturday’s Community Shield fixture.
Plenty of fans have flocked to the injury update to air their thoughts and relief on the situation. One supporter has left a tongue-in-cheek comment saying the ‘quadruple is back on’ as they clearly feel the team relies heavily on van Dijk’s presence.
The £72million-valued defender was ever-present during Liverpool’s Premier League winning campaign and even contributed five goals and one assist (via Transfermarkt).

One player that we absolutely need and don't want to get injured throughout the whole season. Get well soon, Virgil. Hands down, the most important player in our team.
