Liverpool: Fans respond as James Pearce gives his take ahead of Chelsea

Although Liverpool got their season underway with a win, they made it very difficult for themselves.
The Reds hosted Leeds last weekend and looked as though they would be forced to share the spoils after a huge shift from the Championship winners. A late penalty meant the home side snuck through with the win, but Leeds did extremely well to put them to the sword.
Would you want Liverpool to sign Kylian Mbappe if it meant selling Mo Salah?
Yes please!

No way!

They will now look ahead to face Chelsea, who will host them at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. James Pearce has admitted that Jurgen Klopp and his men are in need of improvement before their trip to west London.
Conceding three goals against a side that hasn’t been in the Premier League for 16 years has not put Liverpool in good stead to face the Blues. Frank Lampard has strengthened his attack with the additions of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, who could both start at the weekend.
The Reds fanbase are in agreement with Pearce and are urging the team to kick their defensive performance up a gear.
One supporter has replied to his Twitter post saying ‘we need to step it up’. Indeed, with a clinical-looking attack like Chelsea’s, Liverpool must be on high alert or they could falter.

Without doubt we need to step it up, the high line worries me against strong opposition. Leeds did very well and you would expect more from Chelski. Klopp has 1 way of playing (a successful way), I wonder if a little more caution & cover in front of defence wouldn't be bad thing!

I’m not a defeatist but when I watched MOTD on Saturday, you could clearly see how the back line were all over the place.
Robbo and Trent were high up the pitch, Joe would get pulled out of place and Virg was alone.
We do that against Chelsea and we’ll get slaughtered.

I think Gomez has been a bit out of sorts, he struggled for England too. Matip next to Van Dijk will be more solid I think. Also Fabinho to come back into midfield from the start

Trent and Joe were rubbish they can’t be that bad again , can they ? I’d start Matip and i’d play Fabinho and Hendo with either Gini or Naby who were also both rubbish at the wkend. Tough match but Mo is on fire so i’d still fancy the win.
