Liverpool fans have made a shock discovery after watching the club's recent documentary 'The 30 Year Wait'.

The BBC aired a production highlighting the Merseyside club's rise to success after three decades of patiently waiting. In the documentary, it reeled off Liverpool's rich history and their lead up to their first ever Premier League title.

Along the way, it revealed that Jose Mourinho was once an option to become the new Reds manager.

As posted by @LFCTransferRoom, Liverpool were considering appointing the Portuguese coach before finally choosing Rafael Benitez to take the reins. The decision reportedly came down to the Spaniard being more down to earth and having more humility, which suited Liverpool more than Mourinho's well-known hot-headedness on the sidelines.

Loads of Kopites have responded to this revelation and are shocked to learn that they were once considering bringing the current Spurs boss to Anfield. One fan has replied saying 'I'm utterly disgusted' as they try to imagine a man who has managed both Chelsea and Manchester United leading Liverpool Football Club.
