Liverpool: Fans slate Roberto Firmino during Brighton clash
Many Liverpool fans ripped into their number nine Roberto Firmino during his side’s Premier League encounter against Brighton on Wednesday night.
The 29-year-old featured in a side that was without goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Sadio Mane, with new signing Ben Davies on the bench and Ozan Kabak watching from the stands.
Firmino came under the cosh from the first kick of the game and he was quickly closed down by Seagulls players and was unable to provide balls for the attacking players.
Despite being criticised for much of the campaign, including by Jamie Carragher, Firmino had managed to average a match rating of 7.12 from 19 starts before the game, scoring six goals and providing four assists (Whosc0red).
