Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate will be available to feature in Friday night's Premier League clash against Leicester City at Anfield.

The Lowdown: Konate's season so far

This season has seen the centre-back make just four appearances for the Reds across the Premier League and the Champions League, having spent a large period of time out with a knee injury.

After making five appearances for France during the recent World Cup, the defender didn't feature in Liverpool's 3-2 defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup and their 3-1 league win over Aston Villa.

Now that the Merseyside club are set to take on Brendan Rodgers' side in front of their home supporters this evening, an update has emerged regarding Konate.

The Latest: Konate available for Leicester game

In a recent post, the official Liverpool Twitter account relayed the news originally shared by Jurgen Klopp in his latest press conference - Konate is available to play in tonight's match.

The post also confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns within the squad heading into the game against the Foxes.

The Verdict: A big boost

During his time in Qatar, the 23-year-old showed the defensive talent he has by ending the tournament in the top five in the France squad for average tackles (3), interceptions (1.4), clearances (2.8) and blocks (0.4) per game.

This backs up why journalist David O'Connell hailed the defender's performance in France's semi-final match against Morocco as "phenomenal" on Twitter.

Even though the Frenchman has not been particularly prominent in the Liverpool team this season, having him back as an option will be a massive boost for Klopp and give him the chance to rotate and rest some of his other centre-backs.
