There are a lot of world-class managers in the Premier League but Liverpool fans mat not be happy to see a former player of the Reds praise Jose Mourinho and say that he is above Jurgen Klopp in the manager pecking order.
John Welsh, who won the Champions League with Liverpool, has been giving his opinion on Twitter.
What John Welsh had to say about Jurgen Klopp
Welsh tweeted: “Mourinho ain’t done yet, (he’s) some manager. (The) hardest thing for a manager is getting world-class millionaires to run around for (you). In my opinion, he’s the best since Ferguson, Klopp a very close second”
Does the Liverpool manager deserve more recognition from Welsh?
Mourinho has certainly been a world-class manager and he is definitely one of the best modern managers in the game. However, the amount of progress Klopp has made at Liverpool in such a short time should be highly commended.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola won back-to-back Premier League titles with Manchester City, whilst also completing a domestic treble.
Liverpool have gone from struggling for Champions League qualification to being one of the biggest powerhouses in Europe and a lot of this is down to the manager.
The fact that Welsh still believes Mourihno is above Klopp and Guardiola in the management pecking order is surprising to us, given he’s been sacked from two Premier League clubs in recent years whilst the German and the Spaniard have racked up major trophy wins.
