Many Liverpool fans flocked to James Pearce’s Twitter account after delivering his verdict on Mohamed Salah.
Speaking after the full-time whistle, The Athletic journalist said that Tuesday night’s win was the “perfect collective reaction” from the Reds after beating RB Leipzig 2-0 in Budapest.
He highlighted that the 28-year-old has drawn level with legendary striker Ian St John with 118 goals, and backed up the promise he made two days prior to the game taking place.
For the fourth season running, Salah has scored over 20 goals in all competitions and is on course to toppling the tallies racked up over the previous two campaigns.
Will Mohamed Salah go down as one of the greatest in Liverpool history?
Because of this, supporters wanted to echo the points that Pearce made and spread them far and wide across social media.
Fans applaud Salah
“He was like a man possessed – unplayable!”
“This man always keep his promise”
“Wow. He’s genuinely on track to be one of the greatest, if not greatest ever LFC player.”
“Salah is pure class, the best player in the world right now”
“Mr consistent does it again. Ridiculous player”
“It’s not like he’s scoring the third in 3-0 wins either. Every goal is a winner or an opener. The man is just pure class.”
