Liverpool midfielder James Milner is available for the Reds' Premier League clash with Brighton this weekend, reliable journalist Neil Jones has confirmed.

The Lowdown: Milner absent for a while

The 37-year-old has been a great servant for Liverpool since arriving back in 2015, winning the Champions League and Premier League, among numerous other trophies.

However, he has been absent for the Reds for an extended period, playing just once since November.

As Jurgen Klopp's side prepare to head to Brighton this afternoon, a positive update has emerged amid a long list of absentees.

The Latest: Veteran back fit again

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Jones said that Milner is in full training again, suggesting he could be part of the matchday squad at the Amex Stadium:

"Milner back in full training today."

The Verdict: Every available player helps

Even though Liverpool's midfield has been heavily criticised this season, having Milner back is still clearly a boost for Klopp.

The vast experience he possesses can be priceless from the substitutes' bench, given his astute game management, and he could ease the workload of other midfielders in the squad.

It would be a surprise if he started against Brighton - he may not even be involved at all - but if Liverpool are leading late in the day, there are certainly worse players to introduce to the fray.
