Liverpool could look to sign Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes in 2023 after missing out on him this summer, according to journalist Bruno Andrade.

The Reds had a frustrating summer transfer window when it came to signings in midfield, with it clear that major reinforcements were needed there.
Nunes was a player who was linked with a move to Anfield a number of times but he ended up making the switch from Sporting CP to Wolves instead.
It was an excellent signing for the Wanderers, with the Portuguese maestro already showing Liverpool exactly what they missed out on - he has started every game since his arrival at Molineux, the type of durability Klopp would love in his midfield ranks.

Writing on Twitter on Thursday, Andrade said that the Reds will aim to sign Nunes next year instead, with Enzo Fernandez also a potential option:
"Liverpool think of Matheus Nunes to strengthen midfield in 2023; Enzo Fernandez is also on Jurgen Klopp's hit list; Relationship with Jorge Mendes weighs in favour of the duo."

The Verdict: Would he leave so soon?
Signing Nunes in 2023, in an ideal world as well as Jude Bellingham rather than instead of, would represent a seismic summer at Liverpool in the midfield department - something that is badly needed.

That being said, it would be a surprise if the 24-year-old left Wolves so early in his career there unless Bruno Lage's side suffered relegation from the Premier League.
Only a huge bid would likely prise Nunes away from Molineux, with the midfielder hailed as 'unbelievable' by former teammate Goncalo Santos in the past and already averaging two tackles per game for Wolves in the league this season.
