Liverpool: Thiago could be out injured for four weeks

Liverpool midfielder Thiago could miss up to four weeks of action with a hip injury, according to a new update from reliable journalist Sam Wallace.
The Lowdown: Thiago out of the derby
The Reds host Everton in a massive Premier League clash on Monday night, with both sides absolutely desperate for points for different reasons.
One player who will be playing no part in proceedings is Thiago, however, as the Spaniard is ruled out with a hip problem, acting as the latest fitness blow for Jurgen Klopp.
Now, a more detailed update has emerged regarding the length of the 31-year-old’s absence.
The Latest: Four-week absence possible
Taking to Twitter, Wallace said that Thiago would be out until next month, with four weeks on the sidelines possible:
“Thiago Alcantara hip problem looks like it could mean up to four weeks out for #LFC midfielder – another one to add to the club’s list of injury absentees.”
The Verdict: Enormous blow for Liverpool
This is a massive setback for Liverpool, whose midfield has been such a major issue this season, despite the best efforts of the 46-time capped Spain international.
While he hasn’t necessarily been perfect, he has still been far superior to the likes of struggling pair Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, averaging more tackles (2.9) than any other player and also enjoying an 86.2% pass completion rate.
No Reds player is able to dictate play and thread passes in the manner that Thiago does and that loss of control could make things even more of a concern in the middle of the park.
That isn’t only a worry for the Everton game, where Sean Dyche’s side could be difficult to break down, but also for the upcoming Champions League meeting with Real Madrid, against a midfield containing the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Aurelien Tchouameni.
