Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Naby Keita injured his hamstring during Liverpool’s clash with Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday night.
Keita hurts hamstring
Despite being without the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold against the Foxes, the Reds still ran out comfortable 3-o winners.
However, another inury issue arose during the 90 minutes, with Keita coming off early in the second half. Talking after the match, Klopp revealed the nature of the problem. He said:
“It was his hamstring.”
Just the latest injury
This is just the latest in a long list of injuries at Anfield. Along with the trio of players previously mentioned, Joe Gomez, Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago Alcantara are also also unavailable. Whilst the Reds continue to win at the moment, that will surely only last for so long if they remain without close to half a squad.
Should Liverpool sell Naby Keita?
For Keita, it is the same old story. According to Transfermarkt, this will be the ninth different spell on the sidelines for the Guinea international. Whilst he may be a top player – earlier this year, Van Dijk called him “outstanding” and “world-class” – he is no use to anyone if he continues to spend time on the sidelines. It feels like it is only a matter of time before Klopp and co lose patience.
In other news, Liverpool fans love footage of this star against Leicester.
