Either Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino will leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Mane and Firmino at Liverpool

Both players have been two of the poster boys of the Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield, producing numerous moments of magic in the final third alongside Mohamed Salah. The Brazil international has struck 95 goals for the Reds since joining in 2015, while the Senegal star has netted 108 times since his move to Merseyside the following year.

With Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz arriving at the club in the last 18 months, though, Liverpool seem to be planning for life after their world-famous front-three, and a huge claim has now emerged regarding the futures of Mane and Firmino.

The Latest: Journalist makes big claim

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said that he believes one of the pair will leave this summer, bringing an end to a wonderful spell at the club for whichever one moves on.

The journalist claimed: "With Mane and Firmino, one of them will be gone next season from what I’m told. It will be interesting to see which one it is."

The Verdict: The end of Bobby?

The thought of either Mane or Firmino leaving is a sad one, with the duo playing such an integral role in a glorious period of success at Anfield.

While there is an argument to say that neither is at the absolute peak of their powers right now, they are still excellent footballers who are contributing regularly. Both have scored in the last week alone, with Firmino netting at Inter Milan and Mane equalising at home to Norwich City on Saturday.

The Brazilian is arguably the most likely to move on after losing his regular spot to Jota - his contract expires in 2023, like Mane's - but the timing of his departure could depends on whether or not Liverpool are happy to see him leave on a free transfer next summer.
