Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has proven once more that he can perform just as well off the pitch as he does on it.

The 28-year-old has had a solid start to the Premier League season and the Reds' first title defence, finding the net on five occasions from his first four games, including a hat-trick against Leeds United on the opening weekend of the season.

While his performances since his £34m move from Roma in 2017 have been phenomenal, he is also proving to be just as influential away from the pitch.

The Daily Mail report that while filling up at a petrol station, the Egypt international defended a homeless man who was being harassed by a group of men who were walking past the forecourt, also giving him £100 for his traumatic experience.

This comes just a few months after Salah paid for everyone's petrol at a British supermarket in another act of kindness from the Liverpool superstar.

If Liverpool fans didn't appreciate Salah enough before this day, they will now. He is proving to be a glistening example of how a footballer should behave on and off the pitch.

Salah's professionalism, but also his humble nature, is moulding him into a footballer that youngsters will be aspiring to replicate in future years.

Having recently entered Liverpool's top 20 all-time goalscorers at Anfield, this is the cherry on his very own Anfield cake that will elevate him to legendary status at the club.

Salah has plenty more years ahead of him to add to his already successful Liverpool career. Time will tell as to whether the £108m-rated star can maintain his unstoppable scoring rate and brilliant attitude as he heads towards the back end of his career.
