Liverpool are ready to face off against League Two side Lincoln City in this evening's Carabao Cup clash.

The Reds have a 100% win rate so far this term after emerging victorious from their opening two Premier League games. Now, they shift attention to their first cup run of the new season and there's a high chance some key players will be rested.

Jurgen Klopp left yesterday's press conference duties to Pep Lijnders, which could indicate the assistant manager will be running the show today.

With that being said, Transfer Tavern has predicted how Liverpool could lineup to take on the Imps, including six changes from the Chelsea game.

The Merseyside outfit will likely see this fixture as one they can win comfortably, and therefore will take the opportunity to rest important personnel ahead of Arsenal on Monday. However, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson could make up a senior spine to keep things in order and ensure a win.

We could see full debuts handed to the trio of new signings Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago and Diogo Jota. The Spanish midfielder played well in his substitute appearance against Chelsea, maintaining a 90% passing rate and completing 10/12 long balls (via Sofascore).

With Fabinho perhaps starting alongside van Dijk in defence again, Henderson could support the backline, leaving room for youngster Curtis Jones further up the pitch.

The teenage midfielder has already proved he loves a cup match, after scoring Liverpool's winning goal against Everton in the FA Cup fourth round last season.

In order to keep Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah rested up for Arsenal, Jota and Takumi Minamino could feature on the wings. The former Wolves man will want to grab the opportunity with both hands to show Klopp exactly what he is capable of.

His tally of 16 goals and six assists last season paints a very promising picture for his potential Liverpool debut. Roberto Firmino should keep his place up front.
