Another surprise clause in Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona has presented itself and it could see Liverpool pocket even more money.
Can Liverpool win the Premier League again this season?
In another stroke of genius from Michael Edwards, many fans have discovered that Coutinho needs to make just 15 more appearances for the Catalonians in order to trigger this particular clause. This could very much become a reality as well, as despite talks of the Brazilian leaving Spain, new manager Ronald Koeman is reportedly keen to involve him in his squad this campaign.
Coutinho left the Merseyside outfit back in 2018 for his dream move to Barca as Liverpool secured an impressive £142m deal with the La Liga giants (via BBC Sport).
The news has obviously come as a very pleasant update for the Anfield faithful, plenty of whom have taken to Twitter to share their excitement. One fan has replied saying it’s ‘excellent news’ whilst another has branded the transfer as ‘the gift that keeps on giving’.
