Liverpool: Fans fume as Reds offered chance to sign Sokratis

Many Liverpool fans were not impressed after their club were apparently offered the chance to make a transfer move for Arsenal defender Sokratis.
This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who told his Here We Go Podcast about the news, and he also spoke about Jurgen Klopp’s good relationship with the 32-year-old, which was forged during their time together at Borussia Dortmund during the early 2010s.
This news was then relayed by the Anfield Edition Twitter account.
Last season, Gary Neville was heavily critical of the Greece international, describing him as a “poor player” on Sky Sports (cited by Metro) as Arsenal drew 2-2 with Watford.
Klopp has no established centre-backs to choose from at this time. Both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have been ruled out for a significant amount of time due to serious knee injuries, and Joel Matip continues to struggle with his own personal fitness issues.
Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were forced to step in at centre half during their side’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton last time out – with The Athletic previously suggesting that Liverpool have no plans of signing a defender this month.
Should Liverpool sign Sokratis?
Yes

No

Despite this, these supporters were not convinced that Sokratis is the player that the Reds need right now, with some saying on Twitter that the club should stick with what they have, even if he is a possible option for them.
