A number of Liverpool supporters are unhappy after the Reds were linked with a move for Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner.
Gini Wijnaldum will swap the Reds for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, bringing an end to a wonderful five-year spell at Anfield.
The Dutchman has been a hugely influential performer for Liverpool, playing a major role in their success under Jurgen Klopp, winning both the Champions League and Premier League.
Wijnaldum’s exit means a new midfielder may need to join the Reds in the next few months, ensuring Klopp still has great depth in the middle of the park.
The 21-year-old is currently playing at Euro 2020 with Austria and made 31 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim last season, scoring six goals and registering three assists.
Liverpool fans unhappy with Baumgartner claim
Despite this, the rumour hasn’t gone down too well with these Liverpool fans on Twitter, after it was shared by journalist Ronan Murphy, leading one supporter to call the Hoffenheim ace ‘awful’:
“Noooooooo we aren’t a serious club!”
“Blowing in the wind just throwing darts at a dartboard hoping to hit now”
“Always shopping at the pound shop instead of Marks and Spencer”
In other news, some Liverpool fans have been loving a video that has emerged involving one Reds hero. Find out who it is here.
