A number of Liverpool supporters have been voicing their frustration after it was claimed that Divock Origi looks set to stay at the club.

The 26-year-old has had a strange Reds career overall, producing some memorable moments but also flattering to deceive at times.

Origi will always be loved for some major contributions, including his goal in the 2019 Champions League final win over Tottenham, his double against Barcelona in the semi-finals and his last-gasp winner at home to Everton in the Premier League.

The longer his Liverpool career has gone on the more ineffective he has become, however, with the forward making just two starts in the league last season.

Origi appears to be surplus to requirements under Jurgen Klopp, but despite him being made available, The Athletic's James Pearce [via Anfield Watch on Twitter] has claimed that no concrete offers have arrived this summer.

Liverpool fans unhappy at Origi latest

That suggests that Liverpool will keep hold of the Belgian and these unhappy fans took to Twitter to provide their thoughts.

"He started 4 games last season, kids were getting played ahead of him in pre-season. He's got no ambition to play football whatsoever. Just don't give him a squad number am sorry it's harsh but club before any player. No good to us if you lack ambition and are happy sitting on the bench"

"Shaqiri left because he wanted more playing time but Origi wants to stay since he knows he won't be able to earn the same salary elsewhere. Our biggest mistake was offering him a new contract after the CL final!"
