A number of Liverpool supporters have been left fuming after journalist Fabrizio Romano gave an update on the Reds’ late summer transfer business.
Jurgen Klopp’s side dropped their first points of the season on Saturday evening, drawing 1-1 at home to Chelsea at Anfield. It was a frustrating result for Liverpool considering that the Blues had 10 men for the entire second half, but seven points from three games is still a good start to the campaign.
The Reds ran out of steam in an attacking sense, though, and it further highlighted the need for a new signing to come in before Tuesday’s transfer cutoff.
It looks increasingly unlikely that it will happen, though; and writing for Benchwarmers [via Anfield Edition on Twitter], Romano admitted, “the club [Liverpool] will only buy in the case of real bargains.”
Liverpool fans unhappy at Romano latest
It is an update which has not gone down well with these Liverpool fans on Twitter, who provided their angry thoughts at the Reds’ lack of spending – not the first time that FSG have come under fire over their apparent frugality.
“We have the most pathetic owners out of the top 6 in the PL, it’s beyond disgraceful what I’m reading and we should be grateful for Klopp“
“Like I said, running a race with both legs tied. I feel sorry for my club“
“It’ll be worse than the Hodgson era when Klopp leaves“
In other news, Liverpool could reportedly still sign one exciting player this summer. Find out who it is here.
