A number of Liverpool supporters are fuming after journalist Neil Jones claimed next summer could be a big one at Anfield, rather than this year.

Jurgen Klopp has brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, but the hope from fans is clearly that more signings will arrive in the coming weeks.

There is a feeling that Liverpool's squad needs bolstering in order to compete with Manchester City's, as the Reds fell so far short of their new rivals last term due in part to a whole raft of injuries.

Someone who has offered a slightly worrying update on this summer is Goal journalist Jones [via LFC Transfer Room on Twitter], who claims next summer could be one that sees big additions made.

While that may sound exciting, it arguably hints towards this being a muted transfer window in comparison, which is unlikely to please the masses.
