Liverpool: Fans not confident in Gini Wijnaldum sale leading to Thiago Alcantara - Liverpool Transfer Rumours

Liverpool are currently in a dilemma which could force them to choose between two highly-valued midfielders.

The Reds are still in ongoing talks with Bayern Munich over signing Thiago Alcantara. However, the process appears to have stagnated and recent revelations have suggested the English champions must first offload some personnel in order to raise the funds.

Will Thiago be a Liverpool player next season?

Gini Wijnaldum has been linked to a reunion with former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman, who would like to bring the 29-year-old to Barcelona. Paul Joyce has claimed that the boss of the Catalonians is pushing to complete a move for the Anfield midfielder (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom).

Should this materialise, it will provide Liverpool with their opening to finally swoop for Thiago, who has made it clear that Anfield is his desired destination.

The Bayern playmaker and recently crowned Champions League winner will cost the Reds a reported £26.6million.

Some Liverpool fans aren’t confident they will get their hands on Thiago though. One supporter has replied to the update saying ‘we are hopeless at signing top players’. It’s clear that the club’s failure to sign Timo Werner back in the summer is still on the minds of many fans.
