Liverpool: Sandro Tonali transfer update offers mixed news for Reds - Liverpool Transfer Rumours

Whilst Liverpool transfer target and Jurgen Klopp favourite Sandro Tonali will not be going to PSG, his preferred move would be to either Internazionale or Juventus, as per Massimo Cellino, the owner of the midfielder’s current club Brescia.

Liverpool were said to be interested in the 20-year-old earlier this year but no move materialised despite Klopp reportedly being a big fan of the midfielder.

Who was Kenny Dalglish's first signing as Liverpool manager?

Cellino says that PSG are out of the race for the youngster but Internazionale and Juventus would be high-up on his list of potential destinations, as per Corriere dello Sport.

PSG leaving the race is good news for Liverpool. The Ligue 1 champions, backed by Qatar Sports Investments, have huge funds available to them and, in terms of transfer fees and wages, the Reds would find it difficult to compete despite their status as European champions.

On the other hand, though, Juventus and Internazionale are both right at the top of the Serie A table and are likely to qualify for the Champions League this term. They will both be likely seeking to strengthen in the summer and Tonali would probably be one of the players they are targeting.

Compared to Andrea Pirlo, the £28.35m-valued 20-year-old is an exciting prospect in Italian football, with him already having three Azzurri caps to his name. He would be a great addition for the Reds but this transfer update puts them back in the battle for his signature.
