# Liverpool in talks over Premier League deal as Reds enter the transfer foray

**Drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern, the Liverpool fans in a miserable Mersey malaise are still not over THAT loss to Swansea City as they watch their title hopes begin to fade away.**

While this season has been so entertaining at times, the Reds retain a relatively fragile look defensively and our punters believe they lack what it takes to see out a proper challenge on Chelsea. So, transfer reports from the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lazar-markovic-leaving-sporting-wont-12491336) have at least taken their minds off the loss.

According to their [report](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lazar-markovic-leaving-sporting-wont-12491336), winger Lazar Markovic is being weighed up for a move to Premier League strugglers Hull City as he gears up to return from an ill-fated loan stint with Sporting Lisbon. Upon his return to Anfield, the Serbian is [reportedly](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lazar-markovic-leaving-sporting-wont-12491336) unlikely to integrate with the first-team once more.

The Tigers are [understood](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lazar-markovic-leaving-sporting-wont-12491336) to be keen on the 22-year-old as they bid to stave off relegation under new boss Marco Silva, despite his struggles since signing for the Kopites. A £20m signing from Benfica, a loan spell with Fenerbahce last term yielded little in the way of success and his current club are [believed](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lazar-markovic-leaving-sporting-wont-12491336) to want rid of him already.

As you can well imagine, the Reds in the Tavern really want him out of Anfield too.
