# Liverpool: FSG eyeing Lille star Jonathan David

**As per Jeunesfooteux, there has been a transfer update involving Liverpool and Lille star Jonathan David as the club, and by extension owners Fenway Sports Group, eye a striker for Jurgen Klopp.**

### The Lowdown: David opens door…

Speaking to Telefoot, via [Jeunesfooteux,](https://www.jeunesfooteux.com/LOSC-Mercato-Jonathan-David-sort-du-silence-au-sujet-de-son-avenir_a52238.html) the Ligue 1 sensation has seemingly opened the door to a summer move after his agent, Nick Mavromaras, told Radio Canada (via [The Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10336273/Jonathan-Davids-agent-confirms-season-Lille.html)) this will be his last season at Lille.

Indeed, David has refused to rule out an exit, particularly to England, amid his scintillating run of form in the French top flight.

The 22-year-old called the Premier League a division which ‘[attracts everyone](https://www.jeunesfooteux.com/LOSC-Mercato-Jonathan-David-sort-du-silence-au-sujet-de-son-avenir_a52238.html)‘ and a ‘[very good](https://www.jeunesfooteux.com/LOSC-Mercato-Jonathan-David-sort-du-silence-au-sujet-de-son-avenir_a52238.html)‘ league – coming as his brilliant haul of [16 goals in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonathan-david/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/533738) so far over 2021/2022 turns the heads of many top clubs, including Liverpool.

### The Latest: Liverpool eye move…

Amid his transfer hint, French news outlet [Jeunesfooteux](https://www.jeunesfooteux.com/LOSC-Mercato-Jonathan-David-sort-du-silence-au-sujet-de-son-avenir_a52238.html) explain that David’s willingness to move across the channel could come as a boost to FSG and Klopp as they claim Liverpool remain one of the interested clubs.

Alongside the Reds, league rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United are also said to be watching his situation.

### The Verdict: Get it done…

The Canada international, who has already racked up a very impressive [20 goals in 27 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonathan-david/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/533738) for his country, could come as a brilliant signing for the Merseysiders.

Football reporter Tom Williams branded David an ‘ice-cold’ striker on [Twitter](https://mobile.twitter.com/tomwfootball/status/1495753157099593731) whilst lauding his exploits this season in an extensive piece for The Times.

The striker, as reported by TYC Sports journalist[Matthew Scianitti](https://twitter.com/tsnscianitti/status/1483831807565045760?s=21) in January, is said to be ‘open’ to every possibility – including a move to Liverpool.

His candid interview arguably backs this claim, and while [Jeunesfooteux](https://www.jeunesfooteux.com/LOSC-Mercato-Jonathan-David-sort-du-silence-au-sujet-de-son-avenir_a52238.html) believe the starring forward will cost around €60 million (£50m), we believe he is definitely worth the price tag.
