# Liverpool make record-breaking ace transfer priority, long-term plan in place

**Liverpool have made Fulham’s 16-year-old left-back Ryan Sessegnon one of their transfer priorities this summer, which really has caused a buzz in the Reds’ booth here in the Transfer Tavern.**

Speculation surrounding the Merseysiders’ business for the coming window has been plentiful of late amid reports that Jurgen Klopp could be given up to [£200m](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-summer-window-klopp-12868597) to spend.

[Cadena SER](https://cadenaser.com/programa/2017/04/06/el_larguero/1491510550_637747.html) have revealed that Atletico Madrid’s Theo Hernandez has been approached and offered a huge contract by Liverpool, but [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2017/04/10/34486422/liverpool-make-sessegnon-key-target-with-no-substance-in?ICID=SP_HN_HP_RI_0_3) claim that no proposal has been submitted and that Sessegnon is the player they want instead.

The teenager has emerged as one of the most highly-rated footballers in the Championship this term, becoming the division’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the process, and the Anfield outfit see him as a long-term option.

A host of other top Premier League clubs want Sessegnon, too, but [The Times’ Paul Joyce](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-game-webchat-with-paul-joyce-from-1pm-ngqv6gs2z) has also provided an update on the situation, hinting that Liverpool are at the front of the queue for the starlet and that he would play a back-up role to James Milner in the immediate future should he head to the club.
