# Liverpool: James Milner available again after injury

**[Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/) midfielder [James Milner](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/james-milner/) is available for the Reds’ [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) clash with Brighton this weekend, reliable journalist Neil Jones has confirmed.**

### The Lowdown: Milner absent for a while

The 37-year-old has been a great servant for Liverpool since arriving back in 2015, [winning](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-milner/erfolge/spieler/3333) the Champions League and Premier League, among numerous other trophies.

However, he has been absent for the Reds for an extended period, playing just [once](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/4511/Show/James-Milner) since November.

As Jurgen Klopp’s side prepare to head to Brighton this afternoon, a positive update has emerged amid a long list of [absentees](https://www.premierinjuries.com/teams/liverpool).

### The Latest: Veteran back fit again

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/neiljonesgoal/status/1613861295924682753?s=20&t=z-ZZLWpQ68hqiIGYHkJcEQ) on Friday, Jones said that Milner is in full training again, suggesting he could be part of the matchday squad at the Amex Stadium:

> “Milner back in full training today.”

### The Verdict: Every available player helps

Even though Liverpool’s midfield has been [heavily criticised](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1719083/liverpool-news-transfer-options-midfield-premier-league-gossip) this season, having Milner back is still clearly a boost for Klopp.

The [vast experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-milner/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/3333) he possesses can be priceless from the substitutes’ bench, given his astute game management, and he could ease the workload of other midfielders in the squad.

It would be a surprise if he started against Brighton – he may not even be involved at all – but if Liverpool are leading late in the day, there are certainly worse players to introduce to the fray.
